Moths Wings by Passion Pit
I love the part where they sing
‘You come beating like moth’s wings
Spastic and violently’
they sound like moth’s wings when they say ‘spastic’. also the idea of someone approaching you spasticly is humorous :)

This is a tumblelog, kinda like a blog but with short-form, mixed-media posts with stuff I like. Scroll down a bit to start reading, or a bit more to read more about me.

This reminded me of brochstein pavilion! It has so much potential! Also, check out the person I reblogged from, she has amazing posts!

I use this database to check the supposed hazard levels of all the chemical products I use. And even if you are a guy, you probably use at least 5 products a day (toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, hand soap, eye contact solution, etc.).
After looking up all the products I use, I saw that some of the products I was/am using were rated highly hazardous. Even if this analysis is tending towards the conservative side, it still had reasonable criteria for the scoring of the products. They list out all the ingredients in the particular product and categorise those into these categories:
Ingredients in this product are linked to:
Developmental/reproductive toxicity
Other concerns for ingredients used in this product:
Neurotoxicity, Endocrine disruption, Persistence and bioaccumulation, Organ system toxicity (non-reproductive), Miscellaneous, Multiple, additive exposure sources, Irritation (skin, eyes, or lungs), Enhanced skin absorption, Contamination concerns, Occupational hazards, Biochemical or cellular level changes

‘If I have not noticed having a reaction to a product, should I be concerned about my products, anyway? I hear that the levels of chemicals used in products are too low to matter.
Research shows there may be long term, gradual effects linked to chemical ingredients used in cosmetics. The components of a product are not trace contaminants like those found at part-per-million or even part-per-billion levels in food and water. These are the base ingredients of the product, just as flour is an ingredient in bread. We are finding that many chemicals associated with health hazards are stored and accumulate in the body, many passing onto unborn children. Read our report on the chemicals found in newborns to learn more.’

Follow me as I replace my Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser (in nude) and Estee Lauder coverup (in medium) with Tarte smooth operator (Agent 06) and Tarte 4-in-1 concealer (in beige).
1 tbsp corn starch/tapioca starch

2 tbsp hoisin sauce [much sodium]
1 tbsp soy sauce [too much sodium]
1 lb beef, sliced [meat is rarely good for you if at all]
4 green onions
Cooking wine
1 hot green pepper [I hate spicy]
Protocol:
1. Marinate beef in cooking wine w/ starch for 10 min.
2. Heat your wok.
3. Add oil generously to prevent sticking.
4. Once oil is hot, add beef and cook for 2-3 minutes until tender.
5. Remove from heat, and using the same wok, add your vegetables and stir fry for 1 minute.
6. Put beef back into wok, add soy sauce and hoisin sauce, and continue to stir fry for 1 more minute.
7. Remove from heat and serve.

Real Love (John Lennon Cover) by Regina Spektor
‘From this moment on I know
Exactly where my life will go’
Even though I like how Regina’s voice makes the cover work, I don’t agree with what it’s implying or even stating. That is, the part about finding a person and thinking you know how this is going to end because even if you do, he probably doesn’t.
I wish I could take that quote from above and just apply it to my goals as a student.
Comin’ home by City and Colour
‘I’ve never been to Alaska, but I can tell you this,
I’ve been to Lincoln, Nebraska and hell you know it ain’t worth shit
I’ve been through Nova Scotia, Sydney to Halifax
I’ll never take any pictures cause I know I’ll just be right back’
I like this simplicity of the song’s melody. It’s a bit repetitive, but I’m not annoyed by it, as his voice is pleasant and natural sounding.
However the meaning of this song is pretty confusing to me, kind of like an mcat verbal passage. Whilst listening to this song I tried to identify the bottom line (main idea) of the song. But I simply wasn’t sure of it. Was it that even though he is well traveled he realises now that he would pick being with her over doing all that, and is now comin’ home to her, but she has already picked another guy. Or was it that she cheated on him with another guy so he left to go mend his heart and now he has come back to challenge him? Or am I picking at the last verse too much. Like on the mcats, I can’t pick out details from main idea that readily yet.. I could totally predict a question though.
The author mentions his visits to all of the following locations EXCEPT:
A: Halifax
B: Wales
C: Alaska
D: Highway 1
Someone in my mcat class mentioned this cool app today! He says his roomate uses it all the time, and it has ‘probably’ helped him. Too bad I don’t own an iphone so I can’t try it out! But I had wondered why everyday I wake up tired and groggier than when I’m at school (when I get more than 3 hours of sleep a night) even though i get 7 now. This body is way too demanding.
